7 Things I Do in the Mornings That Are Improving My Life

ree

Because I’m a Type B personality, I can be all over the place which is why I need structure to keep me sane & organized. The idea of structure and routine sounded so boring and wrong to my free-spirited self, but I realized I was on my phone A LOT and wouldn't prioritize what needed to be done which caused major chaos. I made some changes after listening to some podcasts, especially Amy Landino's and have been getting a lot better about prioritizing my life & managing my time wisely by doing THESE 7 THINGS AS PART OF MY MORNING ROUTINE.

1. WAKE UP EARLIER. Could be 5, 6, or 7am. However much time I need to get things done, I wake up earlier to do them.

2. AVOID MY PHONE / SOCIAL MEDIA 1ST THING IN THE A.M. Wait till I’ve tackled some chores or after taking my daughter to school. (After being aware of my phone usage, I made it a habit to stay away from it as much as possible.)

3. JOURNAL & DAY PLANNING. I do this either first thing in the morning or before bed. This really helps me focus on what I need to do throughout the day especially since I love to do so many different things. I need a list or else I forget everything. (Space cadet!)

4. PRAY / MEDITATE TO CONNECT WITH GOD & KEEP ME GROUNDED. I’ve connected deeper to my spiritual side more by doing this more frequently & I’m so happy. It puts me in a good mood, makes me feel grateful, and on a higher vibration for the rest of the day.

5. GREEN TEA. Gives me a boost of energy & is a good detox.

6. GO FOR A WALK / WORK OUT. Moving our bodies is a must to get the blood circulated. I always go for a nice walk / jog / run (depends what I'm in the mood for) with my dogs and try to follow it up with a work out. It always puts me in a better mood.

7. INTERMITTENT FASTING FOR 16 HOURS. SKIP BREAKFAST & STAY HYDRATED. This has given me so much energy & helps keep the bloat off. I didn't think I could do this, because I love breakfast & food in general, but I've been paying attention to my body and realizing that I'm not actually hungry, I'm just dehydrated. So I drink water and tea until about noon and then have a healthy lunch. This has also made me more aware of what I put in my body & has decreased my cravings for junk food.

My first meal tends to be a nice green smoothie with banana, spinach, almond or oat milk, cucumber, chia seeds, and natural plant based protein powder.

Doing these 7 things have really been keeping me on my toes & I feel 10x more organized about my life than ever before and I have more energy which is crucial. Granted I don't do every single one of them every day, but I try to as often as possible and it's already been a huge game changer in how I function and prioritize things.
